Nuovo incontro per il rinnovo del CCNL Cinematografia Esercizi

On November 19, the Italian Cinema and Theatre Employers’ Association (ANEC) met with representative trade unions – SLC-CGIL, FISTEL-CISL, and UILCOM-UIL to discuss the renewal of the National Collective Labor Contract (CCNL) for cinema and theatre workers. Several pertinent topics were deliberated at the gathering.

Firstly, the employer’s proposal regarding new job classification has been revoked. The decision is seen as a positive move from the union’s perspective, as any attempt to change the job classification can sometimes affect employees’ job security, wages, and other benefits.

Secondly, there is a confirmation on the overall contractual pay rise of 200.00 euros for employees at Level 4 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE). This wage increase will be executed in two tranches, with the first tranche being 60.00 euros effective from November 1, 2024. This financial enhancement will range from an entry-level to a higher-level workforce, reflecting a step in the right direction for offering a fair and competitive salary.

The new agreement will be effective from November 1, 2023 to December 31, 2026. This three-year period aims to provide sufficient time for employers and employees to adjust and implement the terms of the reformed labor contract.

Lastly, the trade unions have cancelled their declared state of agitation. This shows that the aforementioned unions are satisfied with the outcomes of the meeting, reducing possible disruptions and strikes that could impact the industry’s operations and general productivity.

Overall, the meeting between ANEC and the trade unions signifies progress towards achieving better working conditions and wages for cinema and theatrical employees. While the new CCNL is still under active negotiation, these initial agreements project a beneficial stand on employees’ welfare in the industry. Their execution would result in an improved working environment and promote a harmonious relationship between the employers and the employees.
