Starting from November 2024, a 6.2% raise has been planned for agricultural and nursery workers. On the 14th of November 2024, the renewal of the contract applicable to agricultural and nursery workers in the province of Syracuse was signed. This contract renewal is valid for the four-year period of 2024/2027 and was signed by Confagricoltura, Coldiretti, Cia, Flai-Cgil, Fai-Cisl, and Uila-Uil.
From an economic point of view, a pay rise of 6.2% was defined to come into effect on the 1st of November 2024. In order to cover the integrations into the treatments for illnesses, workplace accidents, maternity leave, and other forms of assistance and educational benefits, the Bi-lateral Territorial Agricultural Entity of Syracuse (Ebat) was established.
The Ebat will be funded by the companies with 1% of the contributory taxable wages (excluding severance pay and mileage reimbursement). Workers, on the other hand, would contribute with 0.50% for every paid workday, which is confirmed for contributory purposes.
To prevent and combat gender-based violence in the workplace, the social parties have committed to setting up a counseling and psychological support service at the Ebat in Syracuse. This service is specifically designated for workers victimized by harassment and violence in the workplace. The inauguration of this service is subject to the approval of the specific regulations by the management committee of the Ebat in Syracuse.
