On December 5, an agreement was signed by Autostrade per l’Italia and trade unions Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Sla-Cisal, Ugl Viabilità. The agreement aims to promote a better work-life balance and appreciate the contributions of employees more. Key components of the agreement include: a reduction of working hours, new leave entitlements for parents, and childcare subsidies.
The agreement proposes a trial reduction of the working week to 36 hours for all staff, with no changes to the economic conditions of their contracts. The structure of the new organisation will be defined in a meeting scheduled for February 2025.
Starting from January 1, various new leave entitlements will be made available. These include 8 hours per year for child’s nursery or kindergarten orientation, 8 hours per year for disability-related therapy, one day for examinations for children, one day of leave for grandparents, 8 hours for prenatal courses, two additional days at full pay for children’s illness, two days per year for volunteering, three days per year for menstruation-related issues, and up to a year of unpaid sabbatical leave.
From January 1, 2025, a child care subsidy will be introduced. The scheme will provide a monthly contribution of 50 euros for the second child and 100 euros for the third child.
For welfare, an amount of 360 euros per year will also be provided to full-time and part-time workers.
