CCNL Local Entities: Fp-Cgil and Uil-Fpl Oppose the Renewal Signature

The trade unions Fp-Cgil and Uil-Fpl have strongly opposed the proposals of Aran for the renewal of the National Collective Labor Agreement (CCNL) for local government entities. The contention arises from the lack of sufficient resources allocated to fairer and more significant wage increases.

This position was declared in a press release issued on the 21st of January 2025. The unions reported that the employees in the sector receive very low salaries and the resources allocated in the budget laws to cover the period of 2022/2024 are not enough.

The government had planned a wage increase of 5.78%. This increase, according to the data provided by the syndicates, is far from keeping pace with the inflation rate indexed at 16.5%. When converted into actual earnings, this increase is meager and insufficient. It corresponds to a net increase of approximately 38.70 euros in the paycheck of officials, 42.26 euros for instructors, approximately 37.59 euros for skilled operators, and 36.09 euros for operators.

Moreover, the unions further contest the cuts implemented by the 2025 strategy amounting to 3.7 billion euros. According to them, these cuts are detrimental to the sector and its employees.

The unions maintain that they will continue the fight until concrete results have been achieved. They believe it is imperative to secure higher salary increases to provide their constituents not just a livable wage but also to recognize and reward their hard work. The proposed increase simply does not cover the high rate of inflation, leaving these workers at a relative disadvantage.

In conclusion, the trade unions Fp-Cgil and Uil-Fpl are vehemently contesting the proposed 5.78% wage increase and the substantial budget cuts in the 2025 strategy, advocating instead for more significant salary raises for public sector employees.
