Federfarma, Filcams-Cgil, Fisascat-Cisl and Uiltucs met for the fourth time on January 15th to discuss the renewal of the National Collective Labor Contracts (CCNL) for employees of private pharmacies. The main topics of discussion included permits for training, maternity, and illness.
On training permits: The request was focused on the completion of compulsory training and the associated contribution to the related course expenses. Federfarma and the unions exchange views on how to encourage and financially support employees’ compulsory training.
On maternity: Federfarma expressed its willingness to increase the percentage of integration with salary exclusively during the period of mandatory maternity. This implies that Federfarma is open to increasing the benefits given to women during their period of obligatory maternity leave.
On illness: There is a need to revise the contractual text regarding the distinction between illness and injury, in addition to discussing a possible maintenance of employment in the event of exceeding the notice period, both for particularly serious situations and for accidents. The parties debate about the provision for an employee to retain his/her job position during long periods of illness, or when the period for illness notice is exceeded.
On permits rol: In terms of employee leave, however, Federfarma was not open to an increase in permissions, given the current staff shortage in private pharmacies.
Regarding the revision of staff classification and the introduction of new professional figures, Federfarma stressed the need for further study. These two issues are about restructuring the existing job categories and creating new ones to adapt to the evolving needs of the pharmacy sector.
The next meetings have been scheduled for March 12th and 13th to carry on negotiations for the renewal of CCNL.
