On January 14th, 2025, an agreement was signed between the Classification Commission, the national secretariats, and sector counterparts regarding the classification of personnel. This was carried out by the Social Partners prior to the start of negotiations for the renewal of the water-gas contract for the period 2025-2027.
The agreement necessitated the introduction of approximately 40 new professional profiles, in addition to the revision of the existing ones, which incorporated what was considered an outdated classification. Through a mechanism of flexibility, the profiles currently contained in the contract will have the opportunity to progress to a higher level, with at least two of the qualifying skills that will be identified in the completion of the agreement.
The first level will have a transitory nature: after 12 months, there will be an automatic transition to the second level. It was agreed that all agreements and practices of better favor would be guaranteed where present in companies in the sector. The next meeting is scheduled for January 30th.
