The renewal contract for agricultural workers in the Lucca region of Italy has been signed, with increases in pay, improvements in welfare provisions and introduction of new professional figures. The trade unions Flai-Cgil, Fai-Cisl and Uila-Uil, alongside employers’ associations Confagricoltura, Coldiretti, Cia Toscana Nord, have put forth significant changes in the updated agreement. The addendum contract came into operation on 1st January 2024 and is valid until 31st December 2027, remaining active until another renewal is initiated.
Starting from November 2024, there will be a wage increase of 6.2%. Regarding staff classification, new professional roles such as dining room manager, head chef, master brewer have been introduced in the area of gastronomy and wine tourism. Lifeguards for tourist service companies and agricultural brewery staff, specialized in artisan beer production, have also been added.
For welfare performance, support measures have been placed for permanent workers and temporary workers who have worked at least 102 working days in the previous 12 months for the supplemental sickness accident and various assistance fund. Specifically, support initiatives include a birth bonus for a child of up to 500.00 euros and a bonus of up to 200.00 euros for the purchase of prescription eyewear.
Starting 1st July 2025, the role of territorial safety representative for workers is established, aimed at ensuring high standards in job-related health and safety.
