Trade Unions Proclaim Strike Against the Termination of the CCNL Telecommunications Contract

The national unions of Slc-Cgil, Fistel-Cisl, and Uilcom-Uil have announced a strike for February 3 to protest the decision of some companies to terminate the Telecommunications contract and apply a new contract signed last December by employers and trade unions not fully representative. The unions believe that the change could affect roughly 6000 employees split across about twenty different companies operating in various regions of the country as well as other workers under collaborative contracts.

The national unions highlight that the new Assocontact/Cisal contract includes cuts to leave and wage increases that do not take into account a 2 year contractual holiday (2023 and 2024) and that project wage increases of around 60 euros for the next three-year period (2025-2027).

To this end, Slc-Cgil, Fistel-Cisl and Uilcom-Uil have announced a strike, with a protest outside the Ministry of Labor, to push for the commitment made last year about recognizing the Telecommunications Labor Contract (CCNL) as the reference contract for activities related to the CRM/BPO sector. The unions are rallying for the government to reinstate the previous contract terms, arguing that the proposed changes to worker agreements undermine the rights and benefits of thousands of employed and contractual workers in the telecommunications sector.
