Following the signing of the draft agreement for the renewal of the national contract for cinema businesses on January 23, 2025, the Trade Unions Fistel-Cisl and Uilcom-Uil called assemblies in workplaces for employees to review the agreement’s contents and cast their votes on its approval. The two unions expressed satisfaction with the deal, particularly in light of the difficulties experienced during the lengthy bargaining process.
However, Fistel-Cisl and Uilcom-Uil have expressed disappointment for the failure to reach a united signature, highlighting how Slc-Cgil initially agreed to the negotiation process and then, unexpectedly, changed its mind and did not sign the agreement. The trade unions nevertheless reiterated the need not to delay any longer the legitimate expectations of sector workers, underlining how a failure to renew the contract would only lead to an unnecessary prolongation of negotiations, without any real benefits for the workers.
Therefore, they announced the start of workplace assemblies for the voting of the signed proposal, as well as the organization of two territorial assemblies, with remote connections, to also reach the small work realities of the sector. The assemblies will help to ensure that all employees have a chance to review the agreement and cast their vote, which is crucial to ensuring the fair treatment and satisfaction of workers in the sector.
