The Italian Ministry of Labor and Social Policies has announced the issuance of the Ministerial Decree No. 45/2025, which enforces the support measures for the income of the employees in the call center sector on its official website. This comes in implementation of the article 1, paragraph 195 of the Budget Law 2025 (Law No. 207/2024) which intended the refinancing of the income support allowance for the workers employed by call center companies. The refinancing is with an amount of 20 million euros charged to the Social Fund for employment and training.
These measures are aimed at workers hired with a subordinate employment contract, including apprentices but excluding executives of companies in the call center sector. Even those in termination can claim an allowance equal to the maximum extraordinary salary integration treatment for a maximum of 12 months, as per the article 1 and article 2, paragraph 1 of the Legislative Decree No. 148/2015.
The allowance in question can be requested for periods of suspension or reduction of work activity, in case it is not possible to use the services of the bilateral solidarity fund for the telecommunications sector. The fund also includes the case of companies terminating their activities. Even those companies that have been admitted to a bankruptcy procedure in which the continuation of operations has been ordered can apply for it. The Ministry grants the treatment based on specific agreements signed at a ministerial level.
