On February 10, 2025, negotiations resumed for the renewal of the CCNL of the metalworking companies in the cooperative sector. During the meeting, trade union organizations Fim, Fiom and Uilm received initial responses to the demands made in the renewal platform, including some preliminary financial aspects.
At the onset, there was a desire to conduct a negotiation separate from the other ongoing national level negotiations for the renewal of expired collective contracts, with the goal of placing value on the world of metallurgical cooperation. Therefore, both parties expressed willingness to consider requests related to the labor market, viewing workers as an important resource to be appreciated within the companies.
More complex is the organizational application related to the demand for break times in the event of near-accidents, while the request for a reduction in working hours, as in the platform, was considered difficult to implement due to the cost impact on companies.
From the economic side, there were minor concessions regarding the structuring of wage increases, setting a minimum increase to ensure they are not left to the annual trend of IPCA-NEI. There is therefore a willingness to define a minimum reference amount within the contract. Additionally, a mechanism has been proposed to protect companies if the trend of the IPCA-NEI should excessively increase beyond forecasts.
The discussions will continue on March 4 and 28, 2025.
