On 24th March 2025, trade unions – Filctem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl and Uiltec-Uil convened with representatives of the employer associations Utilitalia, Proxigas, Assogas and Anfida to discuss issues related to the renewal of the contract. The trade unions identified receptive attitudes on certain subjects such as: legal protection for workers exposed to particular responsibilities; increased accessibility for RSL and parenting; and increases on contractual welfare.
There has been recognized a need to expand contract clauses covering industrial relations to address artificial intelligence, also envisaging company-level negotiations as the primary point of consultation between parties. Moreover, concerning gender-based violence, openness has been exhibited towards increasing paid leave periods and introducing education models focusing on more inclusive language and behaviour.
Representatives expressed openness towards the issue of certification of representation and sustainability report. Conversely, without perceiving preclusion to the discussion on reducing working hours to 38 hours and full recognition of physiological rest, the trade unions found differences in the application times and rewriting of the normative part.
Lastly, companies highlighted the need to anticipate a change in the institution of illness. The next meeting is set for 2nd April 2025.
