On April 17, 2025, the negotiation for the renewal of the sector’s National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for 2025-2028 was initiated, featuring the presentation of the union platform that addresses the concerns of employees aboard fishing cooperatives’ boats. Trade unions Fai Flai and Uila Pesca believe the negotiation is occurring within a challenging backdrop for the sector, due to European policies imposing a reduction in the number of available working days without offering protections for workers who lose their jobs.
The main goals that the unions aim to achieve through this renewal are: to strengthen bilateralism and the development of second-level bargaining; to introduce new welfare measures; to promote generational turnover; and to improve wage levels. Specifically, they are requesting a 10% increase in the minimum guaranteed pay for the four-year period of 2025-2028.
