The INPS (Italian National Institute of Social Security) has introduced a new feature that allows citizens and multichannel Contact Centers to review requested parental leave periods (referenced in INPS message 30 June 2025, number 2078). This feature, accessible directly from the service, makes it possible to review parental leave requests related to childbirth or adoption/guardianship for the last 12 years.
When using the feature, each parent can view details per child who was either born or legally adopted/guarded, including: total parental leave, total accepted parental leave with compensation, and total accepted parental leave without compensation. Users can also view a detailed list of leave requests, distinguished by approved, rejected, and ongoing leave periods. The “total” data of the leave (with or without compensation) only includes approved leave periods, not those still in progress.
Using the “Show filters” option, users can apply filters to the list, and by clicking the button in the “Actions” column, they can view information about the request submitted through digital channels. If the applicant parent has children who have turned 12 or younger children who were adopted/guarded, and for whom more than 12 years have passed since they joined the family (or have reached the age of majority), no information will be displayed as the parental leave right no longer exists.
