Starting from 2025, beneficiaries of the Psychologist Bonus who have not had at least one session within 60 days from the communication of acceptance of their application will automatically lose the benefit, according to the INPS circular dated September 11, 2025, no. 124. This is a new development introduced from this year by Article 6 of the Inter-ministerial Decree of July 10, 2025. The decree defines the methods of application and provision of the contribution for the 2025 annual course, identifying the quotas for the Regions and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano-Alto Adige from resources for all of 2024 and 2025.
In a circular made public, the INPS announces this recent development, while also providing operational instructions for the application process, after summarising the requirements to access the Bonus and its amount.
The Bonus provides a contribution of up to 50 euros per session, divided according to the ISEE:
– Maximum of 1,500 euros for ISEE less than 15,000 euros;
– Maximum of 1,000 euros for ISEE between 15,000 and 30,000 euros;
– Maximum of 500 euros for ISEE between 30,000 and 50,000 euros.
At the time of application, applicants must have a valid ISEE of no more than 50,000 euros. The application for benefits can be made from September 15 to November 14, 2025, exclusively online, through dedicated service.
The contribution will be paid directly to the professionals who have provided the sessions, according to the methods they indicate. No direct refunds to beneficiaries are envisaged.
As a result of the changes introduced by Article 6 of the D.I., concerning the carrying out of the first session within 60 days from the date of communication of acceptance of the application, professionals must take care to promptly confirm the first session and in any case within and no later than 60 days.
The automatic forfeit applies to beneficiaries who have not had at least one session within 60 days from the communication of acceptance of the application. In such cases, a single downgrade of rankings is expected.
