The joint assembly of Filctem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl, and Uiltec-Uil in the Rubber Plastic sector has approved a platform for the renewal of the national labour contract, due to expire on December 31st. This sector employs around 165,000 personnel across 3,860 companies in Italy.
The trade unions have called for a total salary increase (TEC) of €235.00 at level F for the 2026-2028 triennium, taking into account a review of the average reference wage. They have reinforced the need to strengthen the additional contractual funds, especially for the portion borne by companies intended for the Rubber Plastic Fund.
From a regulatory aspect, in a bid to strengthen industrial relations, the unions have called for the reinforcement of the national observatory with the goal of turning it into a more tangible platform for discussion. A key focus has been on elevating health, safety, and environment standards, especially regarding the establishment of a national parity body with responsibilities of research, training, and initiatives, both joint and separate, starting from the themes of the impact of climate in the workplace and active ageing.
Further attention was given to improving work conditions and rights, including support for parenthood and defining guidelines on reasonable accommodations to aid the inclusion of all female and male workers in companies within the sector.
The proposed framework has been sent to the Employer’s Association for the commencement of negotiations.
