The Trade Unions Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl-Ferrovieri, Fast-Confsal and Or.s.a. announced on November 28, 2024, that they had held a meeting on November 27 to discuss the specific regulations governing mobile personnel, with particular reference to passenger and goods transport. As for passenger transport, the employer parties were open to the awarding of service contracts for both regional and medium to long-distance transportation and to the entry of new competitors into the high-speed market.
Among the requests made were those related to the reduction of the minimum weekly limit of 30 work hours in the construction of shifts, the redefinition of weekly breaks and the possibility of varying production with a differential of about 10%, extending the summer shift periods.
For the freight sector, discussions centered around the possibility of planning shifts without the obligation to include meal breaks and increasing the limits of resting hours outside residence on a monthly basis.
On the points mentioned above, the unions agreed to discuss, to find a point of contact, bringing about regulatory and economic improvements. Further negotiation is scheduled for December 3 and 10.
