Zootechnical Breeders’ National Collective Bargaining Agreement: Economic Renewal Signed for 2025-2026 Biennium

On December 12, 2024, Fai-Cisl, Flai-Cgil, Uila-Uil, Confredia and AIA (Italian Breeders Association) agreed to renew the two-year economic term for 2025-2026, in accordance with what was provided for in the National Collective Labor Contract (CCNL) for employees of Breeders’ Organizations, Consortia, and Zootechnical Institutions, signed on November 14, 2023. The renewal was negotiated and accomplished early before the contract’s natural expiration, providing testament to the noteworthy negotiation and the combined efforts of both the employees and negotiation delegation.

The parties agreed to set an overall wage increase of 5.8%, effective as of December 31, 2024. The wage increase will be divided according to the following table and will apply to all personnel subject to the aforementioned CCNL as of the date of signing this agreement.

For the different areas and levels, the wages for specific dates in 2025 and 2026 are as follows:

– Area/Levels 1/2: €2,381.17 from January 1, 2025, €2,392.51 from July 1, 2025, and €2,399.31 from September 1, 2026,
– Area/Levels 1/3: €2,277.50 from January 1, 2025, €2,288.35 from July 1, 2025, and €2,294.85 from September 1, 2026,
– Area/Levels 1/4: €2,173.36 from January 1, 2025, €2,183.71 from July 1, 2025, and €2,189.92 from September 1, 2026.

This pattern of staged increases continues down through the areas and levels; with the lowest wage increase for Area/Levels 3/2, which starts at €1,365.49 from January 1, 2025, moving to €1,372.00 from July 1, 2025, and reaching €1,375.90 by September 1, 2026.

This wage increase agreement between the labor organizations and AIA not only demonstrates the proficiency of negotiation but also acknowledges the importance of maintaining fair wage increases over the two-year economic term for Italian livestock industry workers. The tabulated wage hikes reflect the significant efforts of all involved parties to ensure that the implemented wage increases align with respective positions and duties in the livestock industry.
