On November 11, 2024, the social parties in Ebiterbo initiated an extraordinary agreement for weather damage. This allocates funds for workers and companies in the Metropolitan Area impacted by the flooding events of October 2024.
For affected workers, provisions include financial contributions towards costs relating to the damage to homes and appurtenances, replacing furniture and appliances, and repairing or replacing un-insured motor vehicles, cars, and assisted-pedal bicycles. Additionally, the agreement offers a solidarity contribution to offset lost earnings when work is suspended or reduced by more than 40% for up to 30 days during the affected October/November 2024 period.
Enterprises, meanwhile, are supported by funding to cover a range of related expenses including any costs incurred for feasibility surveys, ensuring business premises are secure, restoring or replacing damaged business equipment, furniture and other goods. Costs for restoring business premises or vehicles not covered by appropriate insurance are also accommodated, as well as other verifiable costs incurred as a result of direct or indirect damage caused by weather events.
Applications for the stipulated contributions can be made until September 30, 2025, through various methods:
1. Online through the dedicated web portal, following registration.
2. Postal mail to the Ebiterbo office address, with suitable evidence of the posting date.
3. PEC to amministrazione@pec.ebiterbo.it.
4. Handover through one of the affiliated workers’ or business owners’ unions, which can also provide assistance in completing the application. These applications should specify the date, stamp, and contact person.
5. Personal delivery at the organization’s offices, by appointment only.
This innovative economic approach ensures those affected by the flood events have a specific means of securing appropriate recompense and moving forward. The extended deadline for applications until September 2025 ensures ample opportunity for those impacted to take advantage of the funding available, regardless of their personal circumstances or the magnitude of damage incurred.
