The Italian Workers Compensation Authority (INAIL) announced on February 6, 2025, that employers will now be required to refund advanced payments using only an IBAN (International Bank Account Number). This regulation impacts companies paying out disability claims for accidents, professional illnesses, silicosis/asbestosis, and more.
INAIL updated systems related to the daily compensation calculation for both part-time and full-time workers rendered temporarily and absolutely incapacitated. According to Article 70 of Presidential Decree 1124/1965, such compensation can only be refunded to employers via a bank or postal account, or another form of electronic payment equipped with an IBAN code.
