The FLC-CGIL has announced that a new pre-role contractual figure for research has been approved as part of the CCNL Education and Research agreement, which was signed by trade unions and ARAN on October 9, 2024, and relates to the research sector. This new role was introduced by Law 79 of 2022. During the negotiation phase, it has been determined that there would be a differentiation in pay depending on the effort required, and that some specific rules for some sectors would remain in place, especially for EPRs, given the nature of fixed-term contracts as indicated by Article 12bis of Legislative Decree 218/2016.
Alongside the introduction of this new professional figure, trade unions have said that it necessary to withdraw the ministerial legislative bill 1240. In the matter of precarious conditions within the university environment, the trade unions have proposed a new extraordinary plan to expand the bodies and stabilize those who are on precarious contracts to further strengthen the public university system. Trade unions are now awaiting to be summoned for the final signing and the initiation of discussions regarding implementing regulations at universities and agencies.
