On February 17, 2025, a meeting occurred between representatives of several labor unions, territorial delegates, and many permanent and temporary dancers. The gathering aimed to dissect the problems concerning the future of the dance department in Fondazioni Lirico Sinfoniche.
The necessity for institutional intervention was highlighted, directed towards increasing the number of current ballet corps. This begins with their reestablishment, if they had been discontinued, within the organic provisions of these foundations, matching the other productive sectors.
Additionally, a demand for reviewing and strengthening the organic provisions of the existing dance companies has been made. The goal is to reach a sufficient number of dancers required for the activity of ballet from classic repertoire and for participation in operatic productions.
Hence, the coordination has declared its readiness to introduce events and manifestations that involve dancers from various Italian ballet corps. The objective is to highlight the valorization of Italian national heritage in dance.
Dialogue will continue between the labor unions, institutions, and administrations of the Fondazioni lirico sinfoniche. The goal is to concretely and constructively pursue a stable and high-quality future for the classical ballet sector. This will ensure that highly trained professionals from prestigious dance schools have greater opportunities for placement within ballet companies in Italy.
