A Vicenza, the bilateral body for the tertiary sector (Ente bilaterale del terziario) has initiated a project to promote sustainability in the sector. The project is endorsed by the organization and implemented by the Department of Management at the University of Verona as part of the “Esg.Ter” project. The project is financially supported by the bilateral body with contributions from the Vicenza Chamber of Commerce.
This initiative is designed to encourage businesses in the tertiary sector to consciously implement diverse Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices. This will be accomplished through a series of training interventions targeting both business owners and employees. The goal is to familiarize them with best practices in sustainability to increase their adoption rate of these practices.
The interventions will help companies assess their current level of sustainability practices implementation and guide them on the tools and models to adopt. This training will also allow businesses to measure and account for the sustainability of their specific operations.
The project aims to provide ways to enact, measure, and account for sustainability in every business’s typical activities by suggesting new models and structures. It underscores the organization’s commitment to promoting a conscious understanding of sustainability practices across the tertiary sector. The project hopes to show that commitment to sustainable practices is not only beneficial for the environment but can also bring about a competitive advantage in the business sector.
