The National Institute for Social Security (INPS) in Italy issued instructions on April 7, 2025 (message no. 1185) for accessing Ordinary and Extraordinary Wage Integration Funds (CIGO and CIGS) as well as the Wage Integration Allowance (AIS) for workers affiliated with the Bilateral Solidarity Fund for the Telecommunications gateway. This includes the required qualifications for receiving the benefits and how to apply.
The beneficiaries of the CIGS, CIGO, and AIS supplementary benefits are subordinate staff members employed by employers who fall under the scope of the Fund, recipients of the main benefit. Therefore, the beneficiaries consider the rules for those whose main benefit payment procedures have successfully concluded when it comes to the payment of the supplementary benefit.
The amount of the supplementary benefit provided should be sufficient to ensure that the overall treatment is equal to 80% of the salary as specified in the collective contracts applied. This is used to calculate the severance indemnity for the period authorized by the public measure granting the treatment.
Applications for access to the supplementary benefits can be submitted online by the employer or by an authorized intermediary within 60 days from the end of the period authorized for the main benefit or within 60 days from the notification of the authorization measure of the main benefit if it took place after the same term.
