On April 15, 2025, trade unions representing 60,000 workers in the hydraulic-forestry and hydraulic-agricultural sectors convened to negotiate a renewal of their National Collective Labor Contract which had expired in December 2024. The representatives, which included Confcooperative Fedagripesca, Confcooperative Work and Services, Legacoop Agri-Food, Agci Agritl, Federforeste and Uncem, began negotiations on issues such as wages, training, safety, and the valorization of forestry workers’ professionalism.
Moreover, the discussions also touched on reconciling the balance between work life and personal life. The unions have proposed a schedule of short-term meetings to expedite the contract renewal process. Together with their counterparts, they have agreed to hold two more technical meetings in May.
