INPS: The video call service has started

Starting on July 1, 2025, the Italian National Institute of Social Security (INPS) will initiate a pilot project that will make it easier for users to connect directly with experts without needing to physically visit an office. Initially, only certain select offices will take part in this venture, with the primary goal being to simplify the public’s access to services.

This new project will introduce a video call service. By using devices with internet access like computers, tablets, or smartphones, users can consult with an INPS expert on matters such as pensions, unemployment, and civil disability from wherever they are. Every video call will run for a scheduled duration of 20 minutes, with an option to extend the call or arrange a follow-up call if necessary.

The platform is designed to be user-friendly and easy to use, even for people who are not tech-savvy. During the video call, users will be able to send and receive documents that will then be registered, ensuring the official validity of the communications. It will also feature a chat function for text dialogues with the INPS officer on call.

Users who wish to make use of the video call service at the experimental offices will have to make an appointment on the day of the week dedicated to each office. This appointment can be made through:

– The INPS website, by using the “Book an Appointment” option available on the MyINPS page
– The “Office Branches” function on the INPS Mobile app
– The multichannel Contact Center
– First reception desks at INPS offices

On the designated day and time, users who have scheduled a video call will find the link to launch the video call in the MyINPS notifications. No additional software or apps are required. For detailed guidance and visual aid, a PDF tutorial and a short presentation video are available on the INPS portal, on the “Office Branches” and “Contacts” pages.

By introducing these advancements, this initiative aims to reduce waiting times, ease urban traffic congestion and contribute to more sustainable urban mobility.
