The trade unions Uil-Poste and Slc-Cgil have announced a national strike of all personnel of overtime and additional services under the employment of Poste Italiane Spa, from October 17 to November 16, 2025.
The grounds for the protest arise from the company’s unwillingness to address the topic of the negative effects, on the quality of workers’ lives, of the reorganizations of Dto, Mp, Pcl. Other underlying reasons for the strike relate to issues on job security, for which the company does not intervene despite reports and concern for the social role of Italian Post, which unions believe is endangered by government cuts and privatization.
The trade unions, recalling that article 31 of the CCNL of the sector does not allow the worker to stay at work beyond the normal schedule unless it is for overtime, assert it is legitimate to refuse any request made by the company to work beyond ordinary hours. Thus, the unions encourage all workers to refuse out-of-contract working hours activities; especially for distributed performances/pairings; detatchments to Single-Operator PUs; convocation for commerce and training courses.
With this mobilization, the unions underline the importance of the defense of contractual rights, safety and dignity while also stressing the need for concrete interventions from the company.
