Starting from January 1, 2026, the Fondo Est simplifies health care for the minor children (natural, recognized, adopted, fostered) of its members by eliminating the fiscal dependency requirement for their registration. Consequently, when the family unit will be declared valid by the Fund, the minor will remain covered until their 18th birthday.
New services aimed at minor children who are regularly registered in the Fund’s systems have been added to the Health Plan for Family Members. The available services include: eyeglasses and lenses, managed directly by Fondo Est for expenditure documents issued from September 1, 2025; reimbursement of SSN tickets issued from January 1, 2026: for diagnostic investigations and emergency care (maximum 500.00 euro), for diagnostic purposes (maximum 6,000.00 euro), for specialist visits (maximum 700.00 euro); Orthodontic services, provided through UniSalute; specific special diagnostic services (prevention) per age group once a year (provided by UniSalute): ophthalmologic prevention, otolaryngologic prevention, neuropsychiatric prevention, orthopedic prevention, celiac disease prevention, endocrinological prevention, allergological prevention.
To access services for their children, the registered parent must register their family unit from their reserved area, entering the children’s data and the required documentation. The Fund also reminds its subscribers that the health coverage of children is only valid if that of the parent is valid as well.
