Confapi Small Metalworking Industry National Collective Agreement: Discussions Resumed

Negotiations resumed on 16 December regarding the renewal of a collective labour contract, known as CCNL in Italian, affecting over 400,000 employees in the sector. This contract is set to expire on 31 December 2024. A previous proposal from Fim-Fiom-Uilm (Italian Metalworkers’ Federation) received 99% approval from workers. This proposal aims to provide stability through permanent employment contracts, explore work hour reductions and invest in regulatory innovation. This includes new legislation regarding professional development.

Trade unions believe the renewal should address various issues such as wages, work hour reduction, job security, worker protection in the subcontracting system, professional training, health and safety, gender equality, and work-life balance. A proposed salary increase of EUR 280 for the fifth category of workers during the 2025-2027 period has been suggested.

To delve into these issues in detail, the next meeting has been scheduled for 3 February 2025.
