The provision under discussion, introduced by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies in a statement on December 11, 2024, provides simplification and regulatory measures for contract discipline, fulfillment of contributory obligations, and social shock absorbers. The Labour Bill, linked to the 2025 Budget Law, has been finally approved by the Senate. The 33 articles of the provision introduce rules for simplification and regulation, specifically relating to workplace health and safety, contract discipline, the fulfillment of contributory obligations, and social shock absorbers.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Policies notes the many interconnections between measures within the bill and other provisions. These include the Labour Decree, rules against undeclared work and labor gang mastering in the Agriculture Decree, but also measures to increase inspections and qualify companies through the credit license of the Pnrr-bis Decree and those for revising the system for entering foreign workers into Italy through the quotas of the Flows Decree. The bill also supports employment, especially of young people and women, as detailed in the Cohesion Decree.
Key issues addressed in the Labour Bill include resignation, job provision, workplace safety, mixed-cause contracts, remote work, and apprenticeships. We now await its publication in the Official Gazette.
