Negotiations have begun between representatives of companies in the energy and oil sector, along with Confindustria Energia and the general secretaries of Filctem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl, and Uiltec-Uil, for the renewal of the sector’s contract. The President of Confindustria Energia emphasized the importance and firmness of the sector’s industrial relations system, an essential element to address the challenges of the energy transition, decarbonization, and new geopolitical dynamics. They stressed the necessity for social parties to cooperate for the long-term sustainability of the sector.
The President also reiterated the central role of the collective contract for maintaining equilibrium and stability, and suggested that negotiation could present an opportunity to promote the contributions of all involved and strengthen the link between competitiveness and social cohesion. The timelines for the contract renewal necessitate a productive negotiation route and a strong social responsibility of businesses. The goal is to end talks as quickly as possible, with the main priority being to maintain the purchasing power of wages and uphold the contract as a managing tool in a time of significant changes to the development model and transitions already underway.
