Italian state social security agency INPS (Istituto Nazionale della Previdenza Sociale) informs that after the disability condition verification, the transmission of socio-economic data can be carried out by the beneficiary following the submission of an introductory medical certificate by their certifying doctor. This process is done through the new service provided on the Institute’s portal, named “Socio-economic data – disability benefits”.
This action steps from the reforms instigated by D.Lgs. n. 62/2024 converted with alterations by Law n. 15/2025, which also modified the criteria and ways for the disability condition assessment on a national level, assigning it exclusively to INPS effective from 1st January 2027. However, a separation between the verification of socio-economic conditions has remained unchanged.
The new service enables individuals with a digital identity SPID of at least Level 2, CNS or CIE 3.0 to self-certify and electronically transmit their income, familial, professional conditions and other information as required by INPS for verifying the eligibility for the eventual financial benefits recognised.
The same method can be used by category associations. Patronage institutes can utilise the service through the “Patronage Portal” with modalities cited in INPS message n. 4684/2023.
Lastly, INPS specifies that applications for civil invalidity received within 31st December 2024 in the territorial ambits affected by the experimentation initiated from 1st January 2025, along with all other not yet involved in the reform’s implementation, will continue to use the current data entry process, by accessing the following service: “Verification of socio-economic and income data for the concession of financial benefits”.
