On June 18, 2025, the Aran and various trade unions signed an agreement for non-medical health personnel for the period 2022-2024, which affects over 581,000 employees, including those in health research.
Summary of the agreement terms:
1. The agreement plans average salary increases of €172.00 per 13 months.
2. In terms of normative-economic treatment, the agreement expands possibilities for employees to access areas of high qualification. Not only those with a master’s degree and at least three years of functional task, but also those with a three-year degree, or equivalent qualifications, with at least seven years of functional assignment are eligible.
3. Beyond this, there is now the ability to combine overtime roles valued up to €5,000.00. The agreement also introduces age management tools and the ability to take leave by the hour.
4. A specific protection for employees who are target of assaults is included. This protection provides legal support from the company, and the option for the employee to request psychological support.
5. Specific nursing allowances and patient protection allowances have also been updated, in accordance with the contract of the area and the emergency allowance with a mechanism for resources distribution across regions.
6. As of January 1, 2024, the minimum salaries for various roles will be adjusted. The high qualification area can now expect a minimum of €34,634.49 annually, health professionals and officials to get €24,918.93, assistants €22,961.79, operators €21,545.34, and support staff €20,419.05. Health researchers and professional health research associates can expect a minimum of €26,744.35 and €24,918.93, respectively.
