On July 24th, Unionmeccanica and trade unions signed a proposed agreement for the renewal of the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) 2025-2026 for workers in the small and medium metalworking industry, which had expired last December. The agreement provides for an overall increase, for the fifth level (V livello), equal to 100 Euros, including the amount of 27.90 Euros already paid in June 2025, with the following details:
– An increase of 22.10 Euros from September 2025
– An increase of 50.00 Euros from June 2026.
It’s noted that the agreed increase for the years 2025-2026 is higher than the Consumer Price Index (CPI or Ipca):
– In 2025, the raise will be 2.33% compared to a CPI of 1.30%
– In 2026, the raise will be 2.23% compared to a CPI of 2.0%.
In September, with the resumption of discussions on the normative part platform, workers will also vote on the proposed agreement. The deal indicates a significant boost for employees in the metalworking sector as it not only provides an increased salary package for the fifth level workers but also outstrips the anticipated rates of inflation for the 2025-2026 period, offering real terms improvement in earnings for those affected.
