Negotiations for the renewal of employment contracts for employees within the telecommunications sector have reopened following a meeting between the Asstel and the OO.SS. Slc-Cgil, Fistel-Cisl, and Uilcom-Uil trade unions on July 31st. This resumption followed a halt that involved 2 strikes.
From an economic standpoint, the trade unions demanded a salary increase in line with inflation trends over the reference three-year period. From a regulatory standpoint, there has been a call for the amendment of the probation period for fixed-term contracts to 15 days for contracts less than 6 months and 30 days for contracts between 6 months and 1 year. However, the employer side has yet to provide answers concerning universal complementary health insurance and adjustments to the contribution to the bilateral sector fund.
The next meeting is scheduled for September 29, 2025, with the aim of resuming full negotiations and assessing the counterproposals of Asstel and the progress of the work transformation commission. Issues of short-term sickness, however, were returned to the sender unresolved. The coming negotiations are expected to yield more comprehensive details regarding the requests from both parties.
