Negotiations Resume for Contract Renewal in Small Metalworking Industry: CCNL Metalmeccanica

On November 11, 2025, an online meeting was held between the Fims-Cisl, Fiom-Cgil, Uilm union organizations and the Unionmeccanica, Confapi employer associations for the renewal of the sector’s National Collective Labor Contract (CCNL), which expired in December 2024. The meeting focused on proposals from the union platform presented, including the scope of application, information and participation rights, safety, social policies, procurement, and union rights.

Concerning the adjustment of the contractual scope of application, the social partners agreed on the inclusion of activities currently not foreseen. On prevention, health, and safety, Unionmeccanica has recognized formative breaks as the main form of training in case of accidents or near accidents, in addition to updating training.

The employer association also demonstrated readiness to strengthen the right to information and participation, keeping the RSU, RLS, and the OO.SS. as the only entitled subjects, excluding the introduction of new bodies. As for procurement, Unionmeccanica showed its openness to proposing the obligation to apply contracts signed by the most significant unions, reiterating the ban on outsourcing main activities.

The next meeting has been scheduled for December 9, 2025.
