CCNL Glass Industry: The hypothesis of an agreement for sector employees has been signed.

Assovetro, in collaboration with trade unions Filctem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl and Uiltec-Uil, signed a preliminary agreement on 9th April 2026 pertaining to the renewal of the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) that impacts over 28,000 workers in the glass, lamp and display sector. The agreement is set to expire on December 31, 2028.

The renewal of the agreement involves introducing new provisions at the economic and regulatory levels. Over a three-year period, the complex compensation increase (Tec) is around €206.00. The increase of minimum wages (Tem) is divided into five ‘tranches’ identical across all types of production. These tranches are spread over different dates starting from January 2026 with the first increase of €50.00 to the last increase of €75.00 in July 2028. The total amount equals €195.00 for the D1 level, bringing the overall amount to €4,346,00. Additionally, welfare rates will increase by 0.5%, bringing employer contributions to the Fondchim pension fund from 1.5% to 2%, equal to approximately €11.00.

In legal terms, the agreement introduces changes to personnel classification, with revisions to the classification system and job descriptions through the introduction of “third processing”. New articles on worker representation, “Climate Protocol”, work/life balance for Specific Learning Disorder (SLD) employees, law 76/2016 on civil cohabitations, promotion and implementation of generational rotation have been added. The laws addressing the Gender Pay Gap and the law for workers with severe disabling chronic oncological diseases have been adhered to.

The new agreement also ensures improved training and enhanced protections for workplace safety, with an additional eight hours of annual specialised training. It mandates the sharing of data on “near miss” incidents with union representatives (RSU/RLSSA). Additionally, parental leave days will now total to 12 and an extra hour of assembly time is allocated for the promotion of the Fasie health fund. There are also new provisions on sickness, working hours and extended study rights.

The approval of the agreement is expected in the coming days when the workers will review the agreement during assemblies.
