CCNL Private Pharmacies: Trade Unions Respond to Federfarma

Trade union organizations Filcams-Cgil, Fisascat-Cisl, and Uiltucs are rejecting the interpretation of employers about the national strike that took place on April 13, 2026. This interpretation was advanced by Federfarma, who are being accused of partiality, instrumentalism, and a lack of representativeness in their presentation of the real scope of the mobilization.

The data released by Federfarma, according to the union organizations, is based on surveys carried out from around 6,000 pharmacies, equivalent to just over 30% of the total number in the country. As such, it fails to provide an accurate depiction of a sector that is considerably fragmented. Additionally, a large number of pharmacies are not registered with the employers’ association and as a result, they are not included in the survey data.

The unions further note that a significant portion of the sector consists of pharmacy owners who work within their businesses and ensured that their locations were open during the day of the strike. Moreover, many of the pharmacies that participated in the strike did not provide any data, adding to the insufficiencies and incompleteness of the picture presented by the employers.

Therefore, the unions believe that Federfarma’s attempt to show, through admittedly partial data, a general agreement with their proposals for the renewal of the national contract, is a serious issue.
