On April 24, 2026, trade union organizations Fim-Cisl, Fiom-Cgil, and Uilm met with the employer’s association Unionmeccanica to negotiate the renewal of the national collective agreement which had expired in December 2024. The focus of the meeting was the economic claim advanced by the trade unions for the biennium 2027-2028, requesting a wage increase of no less than 100 Euros at the 5th level.
Unionmeccanica proposed postponing the inception of the wage increases to fall 2028 instead of June, to lower the economic amount deemed too high in comparison with other agreements. However, the trade unions believe this delay would lead to a significant economic loss, especially considering probable high inflation.
Furthermore, the trade unions requested an improvement in the regulation of the adjustment element payment for all situations where company bargaining is absent. Unionmeccanica, however, was not receptive to this appeal. The next meeting has been scheduled for May 5, 2026.
