The meeting, held on May 26 at ARAN, was about renewing the regulatory part of the National Collective Labour Agreement 2025/2027 for the education and research sector.
The first topic discussed was trade union relations. The unions emphasised the need for transparency in trade union relations, especially at the school institution level. There is a need to unequivocally clarify who can exercise trade union rights and participate in different levels of information sharing, discussion, and negotiation.
The issue of mobility was also discussed, with the emphasis on the need for national complementary bargaining to involve intervention with respect to constraints established by law, within the contractual spaces provided for in the regulations.
Finally, the unions believe that agile working should become a structural element of work organisation and not a residual institute or one solely left to the discretion of the headteacher. They argue for clear guidelines and not leaving it entirely to the discretion of individual leaders.
