Uneba Social Welfare Institutions CCNL: Dialogue with Trade Unions

The next meeting is scheduled for December 4th and 5th. On November 25, 2024, the Trade Unions Fp-Cgil, Cisl-Fp, Uil-Fpl, Fisascat-Cisl, Uiltucs met with the employer’s association in the context of negotiations for the renewal of the National Collective Labor Contract. The discussion focussed on maternal and paternal protection, reaching a consensus on the integration, of up to 100% of pay for the mandatory 5-months of leave by the employer.

The text concerning gradualism was also presented to the Trade Unions and appeared to be still distant from the formulation proposed by Uneba, and even more so from a holistic analysis represented by the Trade Unions. Indeed, according to them, the issue of gradualism is directly linked to the proposal to abolish the TEP and aim at economic increases on the tabular wage that consider the rise in the cost of living bore by employees over these years.

On December 4th and 5th, the confrontation between the social partners will continue. The focus will be on the analysis of the text on gradualism, the progressive economic treatment and other economical matters. These aspects display the struggle of the trade unions to ensure that the employees’ wages keep up with the progressive and ever-increasing cost of living in an efficient and beneficial manner. Therefore, commitments to extend wage protection measures, particularly for maternity and paternity leaves, are the main takeaways from these deliberations. The next round of talks seeks to iron out issues related to the implementation of these measures.
