On November 20, three Italian labor unions, Feneal-Uil, Filca-Cisl and Fillea-Cgil, unveiled a proposal for the renewal of the expiring collective labor agreement (CCNL) for the wood, cork, furniture, furnishing, forestry, and logging sectors. This proposal will be in effect from December 31, 2022, and addresses several key issues.
The key proposals in the platform include an increased wage for workers; additional rights, equality and inclusion; enhanced training and safety programs; adaptation to digitalization and artificial intelligence; and reduced working hours for the same pay. The proposal is expected to be approved by workers in upcoming meetings, and will then be sent to the employer’s side to commence negotiations.
